The Plateau State Government has given a marching order to the security agents in the state to immediately ar rest and prosecute the criminals that perpetrated the killings of a couple of persons in Bassa and Bokkos Local Government Areas of the state. The Governor said the state will not condone the activities of hoodlums who take advantage of conflicts among citizens to perpetrate killings and destruction of property in the name of ethnic crisis. Gov Lalong Against the backdrop of the rising tension in the country, Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has warned against allowing the situation to degenerate into a violent conflict. He recalled that he narrowly escaped death when an Igbo man sacrificed his life for him during the Nigerian Civil War (1967-1970) when the Biafran forces opted for secession. Governor Lalong said the Igbo man, who was his guardian, was brutally killed after saving his life during the crisis when he was three years old.
