FOOTBALL: 90 MINUTES OR ACTUALLY 60 MINUTES

Image
Football lawmakers are considering shortening matches to just 60 minutes… but that will actually mean MORE game-time. Arsenal led the league in time actually spent playing at 58.1 minutes per game, while Crystal Palace were last on 52.33mins. FOOTBALL could be set to see all matches incredibly shortened by half an hour – but fans will actually get to see more action. The International Football Association Board (Ifab) are considering the revolutionary move, much to supporters’ disappointment. After all, the idea of losing a whole THIRD of a game, every game, is upsetting. However, the proposed rule – which would see the clock stop at every break in play – would mean MORE football, at least where the Premier League is concerned. Based on current laws, each game is 90-minutes long, with the clock never stopping and officials looking to make up for that fact with added time. Yet no club in the English top flight last season averaged more than 58.1 minutes of playing-time

HOW THE EAGLES CAPITULATED

Proper balance key to Eagles progressing How did the unthinkable happen? The defeat against the South Africans is not to be categorized under an old adage that “Pride goes before a fall,” but comes very close to it. There comes that pivotal encounter which stuns sportsmen into a chilling reality, never to take things for granted. This was the drama played out at the Godswill Akpabio theater last Saturday. Without a doubt the South Africans were superior on the day and deserved their handsome away victory against Nigeria. This was no fluke, and there was no luck involved. Bafana Bafana arrived with a clear tactical finesse, surprising skills on the ball, and the quiet optimism that they had the sharp scalpels to cut through the rib cage of the Super Eagles, given half a chance. They went about their surgery with clinical efficiency that in the end left the patient dead on the turf at Uyo. So, what lessons are there to be learned from a hurried post-mortem? The first problem

HOW TO KILL YOUR HUSBAND

Image
Here are just a few ways you might be unknowingly destroying your husband and killing your marriage (as a caveat, please understand that although this article is directed toward women, it applies to men as well): 1. Living outside of what you can affor d A wise old woman from my church congregation once advised: "The best thing you can do as a wife is to live within your husband's means." Wives, show sincere appreciation and respect to your husband by carefully following a budget and making the most of what you have. Be wise about your finances. Constantly complaining about not having enough to fulfill your lavish desires or racking up astronomical amounts of debt is a poor way of saying "thank you" to a faithful spouse who works hard every day to provide for the family. Yes, you may not have enough to buy that Louis Vuitton bag you've had your eyes on for months, but your husband will love and appreciate the fact that you honor him and are gra

Intercontinental Ballistic Joke

Several men are in the changing room of Ikoyi golf club in Lagos. Then a mobile phone on a bench rings and a man engages the hands free speaker-function and began to talk. Everyone else in the room stops to listen. MAN: "Hello WOMAN: "Darling, it's me. Are you at the club?" MAN: "Yes" WOMAN: "What’s wrong with your voice darling? MAN: "Nothing really, just tired! WOMAN: "Ok. I am at the ShopRite shopping mall inside wranglers and found this beautiful Versace leather coat. It's only =N=119,000. Is it OK if I buy it?" MAN: "Sure,…go ahead if you like it that much. WOMAN: "I also stopped by the Mercedes dealership and saw the new 2016 model. I saw one I really liked." MAN: "How much?" WOMAN: "=N=28,000,000". MAN: "OK, but for that price I want it with all the options." WOMAN: "Great! Oh, and one more thing ... The house I wanted last year

HOW SOCIAL MEDIA CAN COST YOU YOUR JOB

Image
Your social media posts may win over friends and get you few hundred or thousand likes, shares or retweets, however they can also cost you a job. Here are five social media mistakes most likely to cost you a job: 1. You complain about work When hiring managers sometimes browse through social media profiles of candidates, imagine what their impression of you will be when they see job complaint posts on your wall. They are very likely going to be turned off and conclude that you are a potential danger to their brand (mainly because there is nothing to stop you from bad-mouthing their firm too). The question then will be, ‘Will I want to hire a person that can be a potential danger to the brand of my firm?’ and the answer to that question is quite clear. 2. You’re vulgar or offensive If you (with a personal account that you can be identified with) are offensive or vulgar enough on social media to warrant mentions or retweets, it’s out there for everyone to see and it’s especiall
