GRADUATES BEWARE OF YOUR SPELLINGS

STAKEHOLDER CAUTIONS AGAINST WRONG SPELLINGS ON SOCIAL MEDIA "Dear NYSC corps members, please check your sentences and spellings before posting stuff on social media, so as not to keep disgracing other Nigerian graduates". The National Association of Erstwhile Corps Members issued this advice today after taking a cursory look at the numerous blunders being posted on social media by people in NYSC uniform. The National President of the Association, Comrade Abdulwahab Hezekiah, said the wanton manner in which grammatical anomalies are being gleefully displayed on social media by people who are supposed to have passed through the four walls of universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and other higher institutions butt at home and abroad, has become worrisome and is assuming a national epidemic. He said this may be a reflection of the quality of graduates being churned out by the various institutions. "It is no longer news that we have many graduat

AM-PIDONG CRATER LAKE AND THE ABANDONED BOX OF CASH

This past weekend (March 7th), I traveled to travel from Jos to Mangu to visit the much famed Am-Pidong Crater Lake in the Ampang West District of Mangu. The journey, organized by the Jos Carnival group, was short and pleasant. I mean, I’ve been to Mangu many times but I have never made the detour to Am-Pidong. The place is simply breathtaking and exquisitely located in a serene environment and the lake itself is nestled in the deep crevice of rocks and mountains as if they are protecting the lake from some sort of terrestrial or extraterrestrial invasion or incursion. Beauty isn’t a word that can aptly describe this natural masterpiece crafted by the Creator Himself, only “awesome” comes close. There are no hotels or lodgings there, there are no shops, no roads, nothing to attract tour

The measures to limit Bible sales were announced over the weekend and began taking effect this week. By Thursday, internet searches for the Bible came up empty on leading online Chinese retailers, such as  JD . com , Taobao, and Amazon, although some retailers offered  analyses  of the Bible or illustrated storybooks. The retailers did not respond to requests for comment, although Thursday is the start of a long holiday weekend in China. The move aligns with a long-standing effort to limit the influence of  Christianity  in China. Among China’s major religions — which include Buddhism, Taoism, Islam and folk beliefs — Christianity is the only one whose major holy text cannot be sold through normal commercial channels. The Bible is printed in China but legally  available  only at church bookstores. The advent o
